Brewers Clothing

Screw the Dickies work shirts, I’m gonna sport these while getting my mash on. Nothing says I know my shit like having tons of awesome words across your chest. Go check out the other designs they have at www.craftbeerclothing.com. If you’re feeling generous, I’m a size large….just sayin.

Shirt

I gotta give credit where it’s due though. I found these bad boys while skimming through Blog About Beer‘s site.

Wow… Nice idea and looks good, but EPIC FAIL on spelling!

    - Willmette – wrong – WILLAMETTE
    - Kraeusen – wrong – Krausen

    Oops… spell check kids… :)

Hahaha, good catch. I didn’t even notice. I sent them a note, hopefully they fix it. I almost bought one today, good thing I didn’t.

Rice beer has a bad wrap. I’m all for putting rice, or corn, or whatever in your beer….as long as you do it for the right reasons. The macro guys originally did it to cut costs with little to no regard to what it did for the beer. I won’t rule out putting such adjuncts in my beer, but when if I do it will be to aid in the flavor of the finished product.

In response to serum…. I just got another email from the shirt manufacturer. They stated that Kraeusen is the correct spelling. I did my own poor man research (Google) and found that BeerTown.org lists it as Kraeusen. Here is the link.

@Serum. Ha, I found those, too, and let Jonathon & the guys @ craftbeerclothing know about typos as well as the fact they put “yeast” on there two times. His response: Um, yeah, we felt yeast was so important we decided to put it on there twice.”

Hi all, great shirt!! wrt “Kraeusen” it is spelt out this way as the correct spelling is “Kräusen” but lots of people don’t know how to pronounce the “ä” so it is written phonetically. Also, many systems including web URL’s can’t handle umlauts (the two dots) so this is the fallback spelling ;-) . Another, perhaps more famous example is the ß which is a symbol that represents the sound of a double s and is called the “scharfes S” … naturally any computer system hates crazy symbols so the double s is substituted … Hope this helps – Oh and great brewing to all!!
